It is easy to spend a lot of time in the Black Hills of South Dakota!  It is very pretty country, with many things to see!

No lack of animals in the Black Hills either!  Custer State Park covers a lot of ground surrounded by Wind Cave National Park.  One of the largest free roaming Bison herds in America lives here.  Also Prairie Dogs, Bighorn Sheep, Mountain Goats, Mule and Whitetail Deer, Elk and more.  Begging Burros gave Mom and I hours of entertainment feeding carrots, till one of them bit her!  The Prairie Dogs also like carrots.

Mom tried to walk away from one of the burros with food still in her hand.  He did not like the idea and tried to get her attention.  His teeth left their mark!  I think we are done feeding burros!!
